Who are we?
We are a group of women who meet to sing with compassionate hearts and voices to bring kindness and comfort.
We meet bimonthly on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in Devoran, just outside of Truro. Our singers travel from various parts of Cornwall, UK, to sing with us.
What do we do?
We sing at bedside in private homes at the request of individuals or families. We also bring Open Evenings of Threshold Singing to Roselidden, near Helston, where you are welcome to come and be wrapped in blankets and sung to, or simply to find out what a Threshold Choir is like. We sing at World Peace Day events in Truro, and we're open to singing at other venues or in other situations such as funerals.
We sing as a gift; sometimes people choose to make a donation to our expenses.
We welcome new members. There is no audition, but we ask that you are able to carry a tune and can sing — or are willing to learn to sing — with compassion and kindness. As well as learning to sing songs, we also learn how to be with someone at the end of life.
If you'd like us to sing for you or a loved one, or if you're interested in singing with us, please contact Julia by email. If you'd like to find out the exact dates of our practices, they are listed on Julia's website. We would appreciate you contacting us before you visit.
