I wrote this song in response to singing bedside with Threshold singers for an elderly woman in hospice. She seemed uncomfortable with so much focus being given directly to herself in our singing & songs, so I thought maybe she might find comfort in a song where family, loved ones, & children were included and recognized in her presence.
