Comfort and Peace

This is the first Threshold Choir song I wrote. I was vacationing on Maui, and ripe with the new influence of what bedside singing and spending time with people at life’s edge had awakened in me. The regularity of waves and tide patterns, sunrises and sunsets established for me the unwavering, ongoing pulse of life as the underlayment of our existence. I felt I would be comforted by the idea that these gifts of nature would endure at the end of my own life–and that the images named in the song would bring me peace and solace, as I hope it will for others.
Since the song is longer than many, I suggest singing it with all three parts in from the top. If you need it to be longer, just sing the melody once then go to all three. This is kind of a hymn-like song, if you need one that has that ‘feel’.—Annie Garretson 7.19.22

Lyrics
As sunlight on the beach warms the sand,
And waves gently roll to the shore,
May the constants of tides, and the light on the land
Bring you comfort and peace evermore.
Bring you comfort and peace, comfort and peace,
Comfort and peace evermore.
May the constants of tides, and the light on the land
Bring you comfort and peace evermore.
