There is an old song called “Sing Your Way Home” that I sometimes use it at the end of my voice students’ recital. I’ve always loved it. Then I found out that one of our Modesto Threshold Singers ends her ukulele group’s concerts with the same song! I was thinking that when we come to the end of our journey, we are truly singing each other’s way home.
My song naturally segues into Sing Your Way Home (at least it does for the other member and me). It ties in all the camp singing, singing with kids, and voice recitals that I’ve done through the years.
Love and Light
We sing and send you love and light.
We surround your spirit with peace and blessings bright.
We sing together, so you know you’re not alone,
And we wish you peaceful journey as we sing your way home…….
Sing Your Way Home (Traditional)
Sing your way home at the close of the day.
Sing your way home; drive the shadows away.
Smile ev’ry mile, for wherever you roam
It will brighten your road, it will lighten your load
If you sing your way home.
Lyrics
We sing and send you love and light.
We surround your spirit with peace and blessings bright.
We sing together so you know you’re not alone,
And we wish you peaceful journey as we sing your way home.
