For our Threshold Choir chapter [Pure Joy Threshold Singers in BC, Canada] our first bedside singing turned out to be for one of our own, our beloved Jivana Tao who passed in 2019. We sang at her bedside in her home and once in the hospital, but Covid 19 protocols came and we were not allowed to return. During that time this song, words and melody, came to me while taking a shower. A day later I found out that she had died that day.

Lyrics

I am not my body. I am not my name.
I am not my memories of what has been.
When you take away all that I am not,
What is left? What is there? Aum, Aum, Aum

You are not your body. You are not your name.
You are not your memories of what has been.
When you take away all that you are not,
What is left? What is there? Aum, Aum, Aum

We are not our bodies. We are not our names.
We are not our memories of what has been.
When we take away all that we are not,
What is left? What is there? Aum, Aum, Aum

[name] is not her(his) body. [name] is not her(his) name.
[name] is not her(his) memories of what has been.
When you take away all the she(he) is not,
What is left? What is there? Love, Love, Love
