With open hearts and gentle voices, the Threshold Singers of Sedona bring the gift of song to those at the thresholds of life throughout Sedona, Arizona, and the surrounding Verde Valley, including Cottonwood, Cornville, Clarkdale, Camp Verde, Jerome, Lake Montezuma, and Rimrock. Upon request, we visit private homes and care facilities in groups of 3-5 and provide that intangible healing and love that is transmitted through song. The melodies we sing are simple, and many are sung in round or three-part harmony. They are nondenominational and nonreligious, yet people find them to be spiritual and deeply soothing to the soul.
Threshold Singers of Sedona is one of more than 100 Threshold Choirs worldwide. Founded by Kate Munger, our mission is to honor the ancient tradition of singing at the bedsides of people who are struggling — some with living, some with dying, needing strength, healing, connection, and comfort. We invite you to explore this website, the home of the international organization of the Threshold Choir.

Join Us in Song
As a choir of healing voices, we seek to sing quietly together, blend well, and focus on love and healing. We find that the rehearsals can be centering for us as well as an opportunity to master the melodies and parts. We often provide an opportunity for a member to rest in a reclining chair and experience receiving and being sung to by others.
New members of the choir attend rehearsals for at least 6 months before singing at bedside. This provides enough time to learn some core songs and experience singing with the group. You can then let us know when you are ready to participate in a bedside visit.
You do not need a trained voice or an audition to join. However, we do require that you:
- Be able to carry a tune
- Be able to hold the melody when others are singing harmony (or vice versa)
- Be able to (or have a sincere desire to) sing softly and blend with other voices
- Be able to communicate kindness with your voice
Be willing to accept feedback as we each learn to provide the most harmonious and soothing experience to our clients as possible
If this is you, please email us to attend a rehearsal or to learn more. We honor and welcome new singers!
Rehearsals are relaxed, fun, and even healing as we make beautiful music together! We hold rehearsals on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. (If there’s a 5th Wednesday, we don’t meet.) We gather at:
Christ Center Wesleyan Church
580 Brewer Road
You are welcome to come sing with us any time. No commitment is required; however, it will be hard to resist the temptation to lend your heart to this healing and rewarding experience!
Let us know of your needs or questions by emailing us.
