The Antigua Threshold Singers is located in Antigua, Guatemala, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its preservation of Spanish-baroque architecture, church ruins, and as a rich valley for the world-renowned cultivation of coffee and volcano hiking. Our group was founded in 2021 by two US expat friends looking for a meaningful way to bolster the local community with their innate passion and experience in music and grief work. As a heart-felt method of volunteering, our growing circle of singers formed via word of mouth and is an unfolding work in process as we navigate new singing locations with the constraints of Covid. Thus far we have relationships with two programs, The Virgen del Soccoro, and the Casa de Los Angeles, a home for those with Alzheimers.
We rehearse the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at 3 p.m. CST at one of our founder's houses. We presently schedule sings on other Friday afternoons. Our sings are offered bilingually in both Spanish and English.
