Our rural Colorado Rocky Mountain town (Crestone, population 1500) has had a community a cappella women's singing group for several years. In January 2018, a few singers decided to form a Threshold Singers group. When a sister singer died unexpectedly, we immediately chose and practiced a small Threshold Choir repertoire and sang at her family memorial and around the grave at her green burial. That was February 13, 2018, and so we began.
The core group of seven singers has met regularly since then. Our close sisterhood has grown along with our song set and skills. In addition to bedside singing in homes, we have offered community songbaths and often sing at burials and open-air cremation ceremonies.
We are expanding to add new members. Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to visit a rehearsal.
