Evergreen Threshold Singers (ETS)
I was introduced to Threshold Choir over 15 years ago during my training to become a hospice volunteer at EvergreenHealth Hospice. I visited the ETS my first week as a volunteer and have been actively singing with them since. Following our founding director’s health decline and death, three members of our choir including myself decided to embark on a shared leadership model with the intention of promoting the longevity of our special group of singers. Not only are we blessed with a beautiful hospice center and people to sing for every time we are present, but our choir has also become a very important group of people; compassionate friends I would be honored to have sing at my bedside in the last moments of my life.
I have served as the admin for our local chapter for nearly 12 years. I branched into greater involvement with TC when I became our chapter’s Sounding Board liaison. From here, I was asked to serve as the Sounding Board representative for the PNW region. In July, 2023, I was asked if I would consider becoming a TC Board member. After holding the decision in my heart, it was my privilege to accept the invitation. There is no organization that I have been a part of that has such a place in my heart nor any others that I feel so strongly about sharing my time and talents with. It is an opportunity for me to share back some of the incredible gifts that TC has provided me over the past 15 years. I will strive to carry the beauty and longevity of TC forward through my work on the Board and beyond. I love living in the Pacific Northwest with my husband, Jeff and my many house plants. Our children and their spouses live near us. Our two grandchildren, Lucas and Jacob, are lights of my life. Outside of choir and family time, I am often found in my art studio painting or working on textile art design. I have a degree in Dental Hygiene and a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Washington.
