Collaborating with Rumi, with the depth of meaning and the flow of the poetry, is a great joy and honor. I love this image especially; somehow it comforts me to know that folks woke up “empty and scared” in 13th century Persia too.

Lyrics
Today like any other day we wake up empty and scared.
Don’t go to the door of the study and begin reading.
Take down the dulcimer; let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
