We are a group of women in Sheffield, South Yorkshire UK, who are inspired by singing beautiful Threshold Choir songs — for those at different thresholds in life, but especially at the end of life. Most of these short lullabye-like songs have been composed by members of the larger Threshold Choir over the years and are simple melodies and harmonies repeated several times. The themes of peace, love, and rest are common. Although many of our songs are spiritual in nature, they are not religious. We sing these simple songs with gentle voices and sincere kindness. In singing them, we notice that we, too, can feel calmer, which is lovely for everyone!

When we sing at the bedside, we usually sing in a group of two or three. We are happy to sing in hospices, care homes, death cafes, and at funerals, memorials, and the bedside. We also welcome requests to sing on other occasions in keeping with our ethos of bringing comfort to others through the gift of song. We do not charge for our service; we sing as a gift.

If you would like to know more about what we do or you would like to request some singing, please email us at [email protected].
