Yuba Spirit Threshold Singers

I live my life in a river of grace ~ Kate Munger
Our Service
We are a group of men and women who feel called to sing at thresholds of life: the bedsides of those who are in hospice, for those healing and in need of comfort and compassion. By invitation, two to four of us sing to bring comfort and peace. We sing for those surrounded by loving families and for those alone at the end of their lives. We hope through our gentle songs to create moments of grace in difficult times. Our songs are simple messages of love, life, and heart. As a group, we are not associated with any church or religious group, and we have experienced that our songs can uplift people regardless of their spiritual orientation. Our voices are our gift. There is no charge for our service.
Where We Sing
We sing in private homes and at hospice, hospitals, eldercare, nursing, and assisted living facilities by request in Grass Valley and Nevada City, California. We also sing for memorials and at events related to death, dying and grief. We offer a community Song Bath once each quarter. Anyone in our community is invited to be sung to during the last half-hour of each rehearsal.

Inviting New Singers
We welcome you to contact us if you are inspired to offer your presence and voice in this sacred service. We invite singers who can commit to regular rehearsals, can carry a tune, and can blend their gentle lullabye voices with those in our small groups. We are collaboratively led and depend on our singers’ willingness to participate in organization, outreach and planning.
We rehearse one Sunday afternoon and one Monday evening each month. The second Sunday rehearsal is from 3:30-5:30 and the fourth Monday night rehearsal is from 5:00-7:00. Rehearsals are at Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains, 12582 Squirrel Creek Road in Grass Valley. We invite anyone in our community to come in the last half hour for a personal “song bath.”
