Nelson Threshold Singers

Having grown up in Nelson, BC, I eventually returned to the Kootenays to raise my children. With a background as a volunteer hospice worker, a path I had to step away from due to a medical issue, I was thrilled to discover the Nelson Threshold Singers about nine years ago. Finding this community allowed me to be of service in this field once again, supporting those who are dying and their loved ones.

Within our chapter, I have served in a co-leadership role, a collaborative model we encourage. Our responsibilities include facilitating rehearsals and creating song lists, networking with like-minded service organization, and connecting with local care facilities to offer our comforting presence and gift of singing.

I am humbled by the invitation to join the Threshold Choir Board and look forward to learning the behind-the-scenes workings while collaborating with individuals who hold service and mindful communication in high esteem.

I have been a Baha’i for over 50 years, a profound blessing and guiding light in my life that shapes my commitment to selfless service. As someone now considered an elder, I approach this stage with curiosity about how the final chapters of my life will unfold.

Outside of my community work, I enjoy yoga, pickleball, biking, and spending cherished time with my family and friends.
