Lake County IL Threshold Singers

I am a relative newcomer to Threshold Choir, having joined the Lake County IL Threshold Singers in late 2024.  Simply put, the reason I became a member of the board is that I didn’t know how much I needed this organization in my life until I stumbled upon it, and while I do not currently see myself ready to be an anchor at bedside, I do see that I can contribute to the important behind-the-scenes activities that allow for this organization to thrive.  I retired in April 2025 from thirty years in the pharmaceutical industry.  A large focus of my career included leading virtual teams of international volunteers through complex projects and I am eager to transform the experience gained during those years to a cause that is more beautifully aligned with my values than I could have imagined.

While born and raised in the US, I lived for several years in Swansea, Wales and Brussels, Belgium with my husband and cats.  I love that we are seeing growth in chapters internationally and am fascinated by how what we do translates across cultures.

Like many of the other board members, I have a thriving creative aspect to my life.  My interests currently include knitting, sewing clothes, reading voraciously, drawing and painting.  I can spend hours staring at pretty and unusual rocks and would bring them all home with me if I could.  I’m always looking for new ways to create beauty around me.  I joke that my hobby is collecting new hobbies. We are currently between cats – our beloved Mika passed in 2025 at the age of 21.  I am confident she will guide us to a new kitty or two when we are ready.
