Rainbow Threshold Singers

Rainbow Threshold Singers

Welcome

We are a group of women who honor the ancient tradition of singing softly at bedside for people facing life’s transitions. Our gentle voices offer comfort and compassion to individuals receiving palliative and end-of-life care. We seek to provide musical solace to our clients and their loved ones. We recognize that it is a privilege to be present during such profound moments.

Where We Sing

We are a volunteer program of Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care, and we receive most referrals from this organization. We sing in private homes, care facilities, and Rainbow’s inpatient unit.

Our Service

When invited, three to four singers gather at bedside, sit at “heart” level, and sing a cappella. The songs are simple, nondenominational tunes meant to be soothing or uplifting. There is never a charge for this service.

Sing With Us

It is our intention at every sing to bring a healing presence to our cherished clients, to make kindness audible. If this labor of love resonates with you, please consider singing with us. You need not have a trained voice; there are no auditions. We are not a “performance” choir.

Rehearsals

We practice from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month in a northwest suburb of Chicago. All are welcome to attend a rehearsal to see if our choir is for you.

Contact

If you would like to invite us to sing for someone you love, or would like to take part in a rehearsal, please contact us by email or by phoning the Volunteer Department at (847) 685-9900.
