South Jersey Threshold Singers

The South Jersey Threshold Singers is a group of volunteers who seek to provide comfort through song to those who are critically ill or dying, and their loved ones. In groups of three or four at the bedside, we sing gentle a cappella songs in harmony. Our songs are selected primarily from the extensive secular repertoire of Threshold Choir. We carry simple messages of love and compassion intended to soothe and bring peace during a challenging time. We honor all spiritual paths and cultures and have no religious affiliation. Our singing is a gift and is free of charge.

Where We Sing

We sing at Samaritan Hospice, which has in-patient units in Voorhees and Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Upon request, we are also available to sing at private homes, care facilities, and hospitals in the Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester County areas. We collaborate with our companion chapter, the Philadelphia Threshold Singers, for special event singing.

We welcome new singers who feel drawn to our mission. If you can carry a tune, learn to hold your own part in harmony, sing softly, blend your voice with others (or sincerely want to learn), and communicate kindness with your voice, we would love to hear from you.

Because we strive to create the most graceful and blended music, we ask that you regularly attend rehearsals, which are held in Haddonfield, New Jersey, on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 1:00 to 3:00, with an alternate option to rehearse on the third Wednesday of each month in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, from 7:00 to 9:00.
